The Institute of Economics and Finance was established in August 2015. It has 1267 full-time students and an excellent teaching team with excellent quality, reasonable structure and vitality. Among the full-time teachers, there are 2 professors and 3 doctors. The school has three majors, namely Financial Services and Management, Big Data and Financial Management, and Financial Technology Application. The school cooperate with Huaiyin Normal University to carry out the 3+2 higher vocational undergraduate training program and also with Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Audit University and Huaiyin Normal University to hold the programs of specialized subject-to-undergraduate education. The institute also conducts cooperation and exchanges with many universities in Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia and other countries. In recent years, we have organized students to go to Taiwan Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and Tungnan University for short-term exchange and study for half a year.
The reform and development of related majors in the School of Economics and Finance has a certain historical accumulation, including Financial Services and Management, Financial Technology Application, and Big Data and Financial Management. Financial Services and Management is a key major supported by central government, a provincial demonstration key major and a provincial high-level key major. Financial Technology Application is also a key major supported by central government and provincial demonstration. Big Data and Financial Management is a provincial high-level key major and also a key major of the college. The financial management specialty group composed of the three majors is a high-level specialty group in Jiangsu Province.
Adhering to the professional spirit of integrity, vitality, responsibility and precision, the Institute of Economics and Finance serves the transformation and upgrading of the industry, commits itself to the social and economic development, actively carries out school-enterprise cooperation, and builds a professional multi-win practical training and practice network inside and outside the college. It cooperates with Jiangsu Zijin Insurance Company to build Zijin Insurance Institute, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Jiangsu Branches to build Youth Finance Experience Center. It also has simulated training rooms, including sand table simulated training rooms of ‘VBSE’ enterprise management, simulated training rooms of bank and insurance, training rooms of securities trading and other cultural venues, including currency cultural center, Qingfeng Yuan, Qingfeng Ting and integrity, wall, aiming to build a financial training center of simulation, integration and openness.
In 2014 and 2015, it undertook the Banking Comprehensive Business Competition of Jiangsu Province for two years. In 2014, it won the first prize of the Banking Comprehensive Business Skills Competition of Jiangsu Province and the first prize of the National Banking Comprehensive Business Skills Competition. In 2018, it won the first prize of Comprehensive Banking Skills competition of National Vocational College Skills Competition.
